Payment & UPI Policy
Last updated: 24 July 2026
Draft: this document is pending review by an Indian lawyer and may change before final publication. It is presented in plain language for clarity.
This policy explains exactly how money moves on Awaaz (janhisab.in), what you are paying for, and how to protect yourself from impersonators. Read it together with the Terms of Service and the Refund Policy.
1. What you are paying for — and what you are not
- Membership (₹51, one-time): a fee paid to the Platform operator for ongoing member access (raising campaigns, chat rooms, member badge). It is a service fee, not a donation, and not an investment or deposit of any kind.
- Support Us contributions: voluntary payments to the Platform for its own operations, clearly disclosed as such at the point of payment.
- What we never collect:money “for the students”, for protesters, for any individual, cause, or third party. Awaaz is not a charity, NGO, chit fund, crowdfunding or fundraising intermediary, and never acts as one. Anyone collecting money in our name for a third party is committing fraud.
2. The official payment channel (the only one)
- Official website: janhisab.in
- Official UPI handle: thevoice@ptyes — shown only after you complete the membership request form on this site, and in the confirmation email we send you.
- Official email: support.janhisab@gmail.com
We will never: message you first asking for payment; ask you to pay a different UPI handle; ask for your OTP, password, PIN or card details; or take payment over a phone call, WhatsApp, Telegram or social-media DM. If any of that happens, it is not us — report it to support.janhisab@gmail.com and to the National Cyber Crime Portal (cybercrime.gov.in / helpline 1930).
3. How the manual UPI process works
- You fill the membership request form on /membership.
- We email you a confirmation containing the official UPI QR and handle. The same details appear on-screen only after the form.
- You pay ₹51 from your own UPI app.
- Our team manually matches the received payment to your request and activates your membership — target within 24 hours, maximum 72 hours.
- If we cannot match or verify a payment, we will contact you from support.janhisab@gmail.com; unmatched or excess amounts are refunded to the source account.
Until our licensed payment-gateway account (Razorpay/Cashfree) is approved, this manual process is the only payment method. When the gateway goes live, it will replace the manual flow and this policy will be updated.
4. Pricing, taxes & records
- Membership is ₹51, one-time. It does not auto-renew and we never auto-debit — we technically cannot, since you push the payment from your own UPI app.
- All quoted prices are inclusive of applicable taxes.
- Every payment is recorded with amount, date, purpose and payer reference, retained for at least 8 years, and reflected in the monthly totals published on /transparency.
- A receipt/acknowledgement is provided by email on request to support.janhisab@gmail.com.
5. Refunds, failures & disputes
- Refund rules are in the Refund Policy (summary: membership refundable within 48 hours of activation if unused; duplicate/excess/unmatched payments always refunded to source in 5–7 working days).
- For any payment dispute, email support.janhisab@gmail.com with your UPI transaction ID (UTR). We acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days.
- Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or your bank/NPCI UPI dispute channels.
6. Sanctions on misuse
Accounts that attempt payment fraud, spoof our identity, or submit fake payment claims are banned, their content removed, and evidence preserved for law-enforcement reporting.
7. Who operates this
The Platform is operated by [Entity/Proprietor Name], [City], India. Payments are received by the operator for the Platform’s own services — never on behalf of any third party. This page is part of our Terms; if any clause is found unenforceable, the rest survive.
